Whether you are a long-time local, new to Butte County, or just visiting for a weekend of house hunting, June 2026 is packed with amazing ways to get outside and soak up the sunshine.
Here are some of the absolute coolest things happening around Chico this month:
1. Downtown Chico’s Signature Summer Nights
Thursday Night Market (Every Thursday, 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM): Downtown Chico comes completely alive every Thursday night! Stroll down Broadway and Main Street for farm-fresh produce, local makers, and food trucks. Pro Tip: June’s market will feature a special "Outdoor & Adventure Expo" at City Plaza to help you find the best local hiking, biking, and water sports gear!
Friday Night Concerts (Every Friday, 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM): Grab takeout from your favorite downtown restaurant, bring a blanket, and enjoy free, live local music right in City Plaza. It is a beloved Chico tradition and the perfect family-friendly way to kick off the weekend!
2. Community Festivals & Celebrations
Stonewall Chico Pride Downtown Festival (Saturday, June 6th | 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM): Pride is taking over the Downtown Plaza! Celebrate our vibrant local LGBTQ+ community with vendors, live performances, and incredible energy all afternoon.
Kick-Off Summer BBQ (Saturday, June 6th): Hosted by CARD at Chapman Park, this is the ultimate family-friendly celebration to ring in the season. Bring the kids for free hot dogs and an afternoon of splashing around in the park's splash pad!
3. Beat the Heat at the Pool
Movies in the Pool: Lilo & Stitch (Saturday, June 13th): Looking for a unique way to cool down? Head to the PV Pool! Grab your favorite pool float, jump in, and relax while enjoying a family movie night on the water as the sun goes down.

The Barn is quickly becoming one of my absolute favorite spots to unwind! Throughout June, they are hosting everything from the hilarious "Art Critique Comedy Show" to live music and their fabulous Drag Brunch. Grab a local craft beverage from their tap trailer, grab a seat, and enjoy the beautiful rustic-modern vibe that makes Meriam Park so special.
